Claude Moore Community Builders (CMCB) supports Loudoun Medical Reserve Corps in their effort to combat Covid-19
Applications for the 2021-2022 Claude Moore Community Builders (CMCB) program are now being accepted. The CMCB program, run by Loudoun Youth, Inc., connects high school students with meaningful volunteer opportunities at local non-profit organizations. During this annual, 10-month program, participants also attend trainings on topics such as communication, leadership, and collaboration.
After a year-long hiatus due to COVID-19, the CMCB program is back and gearing up to get teens out of their homes and into vital organizations that need their support. This year, in addition to offering opportunities to volunteer at non-profits focused on important issues like literacy, food insecurity, mental health and more, the CMCB program will be encouraging its participants to support Loudoun’s Medical Reserve Corps (MRC).
Since March of 2020, the MRC has played an integral role in Loudoun’s efforts to combat COVID-19. The MRC has been essential to Loudoun County’s COVID-19 vaccination program, which has been administering approximately 4,000 doses of vaccine per day at Dulles Town Center and community clinics. In many cases, same day appointments are now available by registering at loudoun.gov/covid19vaccine.
Loudoun Youth, Inc. is looking forward to supporting the MRC and many other organizations that have been assisting Loudoun residents during this challenging and unprecedented time. All rising 9th-12th grade Loudoun residents are eligible to apply for the CMCB program which is supported by a generous grant from the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation.
