Every year, Give Choose highlights non-profits in the community and draws much needed attention and funding for the wonderful work they do. While the official day for Give Choose is March 16th, you can make your donations early. There are 115 non-profits participating this year.

Great Country Farm is hosting an in-person egg hunt. This year’s egg hunts will be by time slot so guests can enjoy a relaxed, socially distanced hunt for treasures.
The egg hunts are broken down into two age groups. There is one for 2 & 3 year olds and one for 4 to 10 year olds. The egg hunts includes up to 25 treat filled eggs per child. One adult may enter the hunt area to assist their child.

Loudoun County Animal Services is hosting a “Clear the Shelters” event on Saturday, Sept. 18. All adoption fees will be waived.
The free pet adoption event will be held at the animal shelter from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The shelter, which moved to a new location over the summer, is located at 42225 Adoption Drive in Leesburg.
Dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets are available for adoption at the shelter. All dogs, cats, and rabbits are spayed and neutered before going home with their new owner. Those animals are also microchipped.
Dogs and cats receive age-appropriate vaccinations before the adoption, the shelter said. Anyone interested in adopting a pet can view available animals online at the Loudoun County Animal Services website.
The second annual Powerful7 Fashion Show Fundraiser will be held September 18. The very special evening begins with VIP access and a special whiskey tasting by Uncle Nearest, followed by black tie dealer casino tables, special guest performance by jazz artist Tulani, silent auction, gourmet hor d’oeuvres, followed by the fashion show.

ONE SPARROW’S Solitaire Carroll established the organization with her husband to help provide better access to education and resources which in turn provide hope, empowerment, and a sustainable future. The nonprofit, One Family Gives, has teamed up with The Pub in Purcellville to raise money for 10 military families.
There will be raffle tickets for merchandise and a grand prize to win a private party with a new vintage 1946 Chevy tap truck. A dollar per pint will go to One Family Gives to purchase the gifts for those military families in need this holiday season.

Celebrate with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on the 4th of July
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 37018 Glendale Street in Purcellville, is hosting their annual “Independence Day Party” on Tuesday, July 4 right after the Purcellville parade around 1 p.m. All are welcome to join for a free pulled pork BBQ lunch and live Bluegrass music by Paxson Ridge.
Guests are invited to a short prayer service following lunch which will include a patriotic sing-a-long, prayers for our nation and a reading of The Declaration of Independence by Gary M. Clemens, Clerk of the Circuit Court. The celebration will take place rain or shine.
