Session Description: : Parents and guardians of adolescent and young adult children who abuse substances experience an inordinate amount of stress. Often times they do not know what to do to help their substance abusing adolescent or young adult child and will typically seek advice from well-meaning family members and even mental health providers that may not be helpful or is ineffective. This presentation will provide parents and guardians practical, actionable steps for building resilience as they assist their substance abusing teen or young adult.

Get the Tea is a new digital talk show created and hosted by Buta Biberaj. The show features noteworthy and diverse guests who are amplifying community issues, and focuses on creating a forum for increased access to critical information that our communities need to improve their daily lives. Get the Tea aims to be inclusive, and feature real people with real experiences who discuss issues that impact our families and communities. Loudoun County, VA– The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) will hold the 10th Child Safety Day in partnership with the Town of Leesburg Police Department on Nov. 5, 2022, at the Village at Leesburg.
This free event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. and will feature emergency vehicles and displays from the LCSO, the Leesburg Police Department, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Office of the Loudoun Commonwealth’s Attorney, Loudoun County Child Advocacy Center, Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, Loudoun Child Protective Services, Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Inova Loudoun Hospital Pediatrics, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the Ryan Bartel Foundation.
Many of the displays at Child Safety Day will provide information to parents on how they can protect their child from becoming a victim of a crime.
This year the LCSO will again invite Loudoun youth to “lend a hand in fighting crime” by dipping their hands in non-toxic, washable paint and placing their handprints on a sheriff’s office patrol car.
The event will also include live entertainment and games.

Celebrate with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on the 4th of July
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 37018 Glendale Street in Purcellville, is hosting their annual “Independence Day Party” on Tuesday, July 4 right after the Purcellville parade around 1 p.m. All are welcome to join for a free pulled pork BBQ lunch and live Bluegrass music by Paxson Ridge.
Guests are invited to a short prayer service following lunch which will include a patriotic sing-a-long, prayers for our nation and a reading of The Declaration of Independence by Gary M. Clemens, Clerk of the Circuit Court. The celebration will take place rain or shine.
