This is a virtual event. You can participate from anywhere in the world at any time you choose on February 14th. Bad weather where you are? Pick an alternate day of your choice or a different way to participate!
How to participate:

1. Register by sending a suggested donation of $25/person or $50/family via Paypal to willowsfordcares@gmail.com or Venmo to @WillowsfordCares with a heart comment. Willowsford Cares is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (some employers will match your donation!). All funds received will go to the Hickeys.

2. Choose how you’d like to participate:
– Run/walk a 5k in a safe location of your choice.
– Do a 1-mile fun run with your kids.
– Namaste in bed for 30 minutes to snuggle/sleep/reflect.
– Do something fun with your family.

For any of the above, wear your Danielle’s Tribe t-shirt or anything purple, white, pink or red!

3. Post a public pic to social media when you finish your challenge with the hashtag #YouveGotThisDanielle. Or you can post it here on the event page!

Ladies Board Rummage Sale Donation Day @ four locations

Donations will be accepted one day only on Saturday, August 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at four locations: Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg; Inova Loudoun Hospital – Cornwall Campus, 224 Cornwall Street, Leesburg; Middleburg Charter School, 101 N Madison St, Middleburg and Loudoun Valley High School, 340 N Maple Ave, Purcellville.

The second annual Powerful7 Fashion Show Fundraiser will be held September 18. This premier event MC’d by MC TV news reporter Christy Matino (WDVM), produced by Lisa Jones, and hosted by Let’s by Jenny’s Jenny Goff Phillips features Amy Word- Crescimanno, Erica Rowe, Gazal Modhera, Gift Wyatt, Erin Masters, Fatema Kolia, Hannah Catherine, Katie McGarth Schneider, Lia Hobel, Monica Archondo, and Teresa Lopez wearing designs by Studio D’ Maxsi’s renowned designer Afua Sam with hair and makeup by Logan14.

The very special evening begins with VIP access and a special whiskey tasting by Uncle Nearest, followed by black tie dealer casino tables, special guest performance by jazz artist Tulani, silent auction, gourmet hor d’oeuvres, followed by the fashion show.

THE HONORED BENEFICIARY

ONE SPARROW’S Solitaire Carroll established the organization with her husband to help provide better access to education and resources which in turn provide hope, empowerment, and a sustainable future. One Sparrow understands the importance of community partnerships that “share knowledge, resources, strengths, passion, and encouragement with families who are left feeling distraught and alone in the midst of hardship.” Since 2013, One Sparrow has been successful in raising awareness locally, donating funds for durable medical equipment, basic medicine, education, and educational enrichment programming for hundreds of children whose families lack the resources.

MC TV news reporter Christy Matino (WDVM). As a teenager and into her early 20’s, she lived in New York City as an actor and model, working on television, film and commercials. She is a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild and is a published model, having walked in 2020 New York Fashion Week.

Veteran’s Day ceremony in Leesburg

Join the Loudoun County community in honoring veterans on the grounds of George C. Marshall’s Dodona Manor on November 11, 2021 at 10:30 am. Parking is available at the Loudoun County Government Garage on Loudoun Street.

The keynote speaker LTG Bruce Crawford U.S. Army (Ret.) will address the crowd and then you’ll have time to visit with local veteran-focused non-profits: Veterans Moving Forward, the VFW and Loudoun Therapeutic Riding. Vintage military vehicles will be on site for exploration.

Join NEST4US for a service project in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The nonprofit will host “Nourish 2 Flourish” a zero-hunger initiative where volunteers will pack and provide grocery bags for people facing food insecurity.

Brighten the day of families in need with these bags, giving them nourishment and hope! The nonprofit will join thousands of Americans across the country who will be celebrating the national holiday honoring the life and work of Dr. King by doing service in their communities.

It’ll be Breaux rose’ release day for the festival. Wine and food from the Breaux Vineyards menu is available for purchase. Sample the wine offerings and discover a new favorite. Learn tips and tricks of pro floral arranging using fresh, seasonal flowers and a reuseable Mason jar. Create a beautiful seasonal floral display to enjoy during your day at Breaux Vineyard and home. All supplies will be provided. No prior skills required.

Jazz performance celebrates black history month and faith @ St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

On Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m., St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and Ketoctin Covenant Presbyterian Church will jointly present “Jazz: Spirituality in a Minor Key.” The event will take place at 37018 Glendale Street in Purcellville. Guests will enjoy a night of great Jazz and Blues performed by Presbyterian pastor and Jazz drummer Chip Hammond and his band, On Easy Street. Attendees will delve into the rich history of this uniquely American art form, rooted in the African American experience and faith.

The event’s format will seamlessly blend stories and songs, offering guests an immersive experience. Following the performance, there will be a reception, providing an opportunity to further engage with the musicians and fellow attendees.
