The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has partnered with GotSneakers to help raise money for Mothers Against Drunk Driving Loudoun (MADD). Adult and children sneakers can be donated. THE LCSO asks that they be tied together and brought to one of the LCSO stations on or before March 31, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The LCSO will accept all styles and conditions of sneakers. After the sneakers are collected, GotSneakers will process and distribute these sneakers around the world specifically within impoverished nations using micro-enterprise partners helping those in need. The sneakers that are damaged are processed and ground into surfaces for playgrounds, gym floors, tracks, outdoor courts, and synthetic turfs.
Mobile Hope’s Christmas Village will bring joy to kids for its 10th season. The campus will transform into a Christmas Village, COVID-safe, drive-through Christmas event at 302 Parker Court, SE in Leesburg for pre-registered families in need.
Last year, the holiday event served 2,534 children in need with toys, stuffed animals, diapers and seasonal clothing.
Registered clients will drive through the Christmas Village, as children are entertained by elves, holiday music, festive lights and delightful decorations.
Santa will also be there!

This year we’re offering something better than a traditional egg hunt! We’re setting up Hippity Hop Stops featuring crafts and activities for all ages. Get your Hop Stop Passport stamped as you make your way through our gardens, posing for Instagrammable moments along the way, and collect candy and goodies. Be sure to meet rabbits from the 4H Leaps and Squeaks Rabbit Club and take your own family photo with the Easter Bunny.
Celebrate the holidays and get your groove on with the Jingle Bell Rock & Run. Run the races or bring your little ones for the 1-Mile Jammie Jingle! Then, enjoy loads of fun at the after party. Let your kids meet with Santa and take part in the festivities that will be sure to put you in the holiday spirit.

A Taste For History: Loudoun Museum Fundraiser
The Loudoun Museum’s annual fundraiser A Taste For History is an evening for celebrating history while enjoying a five-course meal with guided wine pairings and silent and paddle auctions.
All proceeds will benefit the Loudoun Museum, helping the nonprofit to bring history and community together as they preserve, explore, and engage people around Loudoun County history.
The evening will include:
5-course dinner with pairings, featuring wines from Doukenie, Stone Tower, and Amlés wineries.
A display of Loudoun Museum’s “Vintage Pursuits” exhibit on the history of Virginia wine.
Reflections on the Museum’s past and future by Executive Director Carrie Christoffersen.
Silent and live paddle auction of items ranging from art to experiences.
On Sunday, Oct. 8, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 37018 Glendale Street in Purcellville, is hosting their annual Bless the Pets event in celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, nature’s saint. This special service will be at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine. The community is invited to bring their animal friends of all sizes to be blessed.
“This annual event is an opportunity for church members and community friends to remember St. Francis’ devotion to God’s creatures and bless those that are such a blessing to us,” said Father Tom Simmons, of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Rescue groups PetConnect and HART will have a several animals available to adopt and provide loving homes to these deserving creatures.
Please be sure that small animals are in a proper carrier and large or potentially quarrelsome animals are properly restrained.
