The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has partnered with GotSneakers to help raise money for Mothers Against Drunk Driving Loudoun (MADD). Adult and children sneakers can be donated. THE LCSO asks that they be tied together and brought to one of the LCSO stations on or before March 31, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The LCSO will accept all styles and conditions of sneakers. After the sneakers are collected, GotSneakers will process and distribute these sneakers around the world specifically within impoverished nations using micro-enterprise partners helping those in need. The sneakers that are damaged are processed and ground into surfaces for playgrounds, gym floors, tracks, outdoor courts, and synthetic turfs.
Help end the stigma that surrounds mental illness. One in 5 American adults will suffer with a mental illness in any given year.
Participate in a one-mile walk through beautiful historic downtown Leesburg. Bring the family, organize a team, walk the dog, or just bring yourself. All are welcome!
A suggested donation of $50.00 will go toward A Helping Hand – a core program of Friends of Loudoun Mental Health. All dollars raised stay in Loudoun County and only support Loudoun County residents.
A Helping Hand
A program providing a hand up, not a hand out, to individuals that need the immediate support. The one-time gift of support to Loudoun County residents that are disabled by a mental illnesses, who are receiving professional care, and are in need of temporary financial help, benefit from the A Helping Hand program. Examples of funding include, money for an asthma inhalator, deposit for utilities, or boots for the winter season.

This year we’re offering something better than a traditional egg hunt! We’re setting up Hippity Hop Stops featuring crafts and activities for all ages. Get your Hop Stop Passport stamped as you make your way through our gardens, posing for Instagrammable moments along the way, and collect candy and goodies. Be sure to meet rabbits from the 4H Leaps and Squeaks Rabbit Club and take your own family photo with the Easter Bunny.
BriteWash auto wash is now open and welcomes customers to its ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration. There will be free car washes and complimentary food and drinks. Additionally, the event will have a DJ, face painting, balloon art, prizes and giveaways.
The VIP ribbon cutting will be at 10 AM.
Celebrate the holidays and get your groove on with the Jingle Bell Rock & Run. Run the races or bring your little ones for the 1-Mile Jammie Jingle! Then, enjoy loads of fun at the after party. Let your kids meet with Santa and take part in the festivities that will be sure to put you in the holiday spirit.

CHARITY BENEFICIARY: INOVA Life with Cancer
INOVA Life with Cancer’s purpose is to enhance the
quality of life of those affected by cancer by providing
evidence-based education, support, wellness programs
and integrative therapies.
On Sunday, Oct. 8, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 37018 Glendale Street in Purcellville, is hosting their annual Bless the Pets event in celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, nature’s saint. This special service will be at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine. The community is invited to bring their animal friends of all sizes to be blessed.
“This annual event is an opportunity for church members and community friends to remember St. Francis’ devotion to God’s creatures and bless those that are such a blessing to us,” said Father Tom Simmons, of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Rescue groups PetConnect and HART will have a several animals available to adopt and provide loving homes to these deserving creatures.
Please be sure that small animals are in a proper carrier and large or potentially quarrelsome animals are properly restrained.
