As part of the national Stop the Bleed campaign, the Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center at Inova Loudoun Hospital hosts free courses designed for community members who may find themselves at the scene of an emergency. Course attendees will enhance their emergency preparedness by learning the difference between bleeding and life-threatening blood loss, and how to react to both.
Complete an online education course at your convenience, and then join INOVA staff on Monday, Nov. 15 for an in-person skills training workshop where you’ll experience hands-on practice with tourniquets and wound packing. Practicing these skills will give you a deeper understanding of what it means to Stop the Bleed and the confidence to help someone in an emergency.

It’s Springtime at the Park: Come visit the Morven Park Bunny Trail!
Celebrate the beginning of spring in the historic Morven Park gardens with games, crafts, and our popular egg roll down the Davis Mansion lawn. This year we’re offering something better than a traditional egg hunt! We’re setting up Hippity Hop Stops featuring crafts and activities for all ages. Get your Hop Stop Passport stamped as you make your way through our gardens, posing for Instagrammable moments along the way, and collect candy and goodies. Loudoun County, VA– The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) will hold the 10th Child Safety Day in partnership with the Town of Leesburg Police Department on Nov. 5, 2022, at the Village at Leesburg.
This free event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. and will feature emergency vehicles and displays from the LCSO, the Leesburg Police Department, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Office of the Loudoun Commonwealth’s Attorney, Loudoun County Child Advocacy Center, Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, Loudoun Child Protective Services, Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Inova Loudoun Hospital Pediatrics, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the Ryan Bartel Foundation.
Many of the displays at Child Safety Day will provide information to parents on how they can protect their child from becoming a victim of a crime.
This year the LCSO will again invite Loudoun youth to “lend a hand in fighting crime” by dipping their hands in non-toxic, washable paint and placing their handprints on a sheriff’s office patrol car.
The event will also include live entertainment and games.
