The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has partnered with GotSneakers to help raise money for Mothers Against Drunk Driving Loudoun (MADD). Adult and children sneakers can be donated. THE LCSO asks that they be tied together and brought to one of the LCSO stations on or before March 31, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Here are the drop off locations:
Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters – 803 Sycolin Road in Leesburg, VA 20177
Dulles South Public Safety Center – 25216 Loudoun County Pkwy, Chantilly, VA 20152
Eastern Loudoun Station – 46620 East Frederick Dr., Sterling, VA 20164
Ashburn Station – 20272 Savin Hill Dr., Ashburn, VA 20147
Western Loudoun Station – 47 W. Loudoun St, Round Hill, VA 20141
The LCSO will accept all styles and conditions of sneakers. After the sneakers are collected, GotSneakers will process and distribute these sneakers around the world specifically within impoverished nations using micro-enterprise partners helping those in need. The sneakers that are damaged are processed and ground into surfaces for playgrounds, gym floors, tracks, outdoor courts, and synthetic turfs.

There’s been a critically low blood supply throughout the pandemic, not just for Inova but across the country, and the instability of blood inventories continues to escalate.
Blood donation takes less than an hour and can save up to three lives. More than 250 blood donations are needed each day to support patients in our community. There is no substitute for blood. Inova is experiencing a severe blood shortage in our community and we are urgently requesting your help. Your donation can save up to three lives. All blood types are needed but there is a desperate need for Type O and Type B blood.

During an emergency, no matter how quickly emergency professionals respond, the individuals on-scene are best positioned to assist and potentially stop life-threatening blood loss. This is critical because a person who is bleeding profusely can die from blood loss within five minutes.
As part of the national Stop the Bleed campaign, the Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center at Inova Loudoun Hospital hosts free courses designed for community members who may find themselves at the scene of an emergency. Course attendees will enhance their emergency preparedness by learning the difference between bleeding and life-threatening blood loss, and how to react to both.
Complete an online education course at your convenience, and then join INOVA staff on Monday, Nov. 15 for an in-person skills training workshop where you’ll experience hands-on practice with tourniquets and wound packing. Practicing these skills will give you a deeper understanding of what it means to Stop the Bleed and the confidence to help someone in an emergency.
