On Sunday, Oct. 8, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 37018 Glendale Street in Purcellville, is hosting their annual Bless the Pets event in celebration of St. Francis of Assisi, nature’s saint. This special service will be at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine. The community is invited to bring their animal friends of all sizes to be blessed.

“This annual event is an opportunity for church members and community friends to remember St. Francis’ devotion to God’s creatures and bless those that are such a blessing to us,” said Father Tom Simmons, of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Rescue groups PetConnect and HART will have a several animals available to adopt and provide loving homes to these deserving creatures.

Please be sure that small animals are in a proper carrier and large or potentially quarrelsome animals are properly restrained.

Residents Invited to Attend Sheriff’s Office Quarterly Meetings @ Varies

Loudoun County, VA (November 28, 2023) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is inviting county residents to attend its quarterly public information safety meetings at each of the agency’s four service areas next month.

Topics will include recent crimes and trends in the area, traffic safety, and other public safety-related concerns. In partnership with The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Developmental Services (MHSADS), REVIVE! Opioid Overdose Reversal Training will be provided to attendees.

The meetings will be led by a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Captain who represents the service area. Sheriff Mike Chapman or a member of the LCSO leadership team will also be present.

Jazz performance celebrates black history month and faith @ St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

On Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m., St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and Ketoctin Covenant Presbyterian Church will jointly present “Jazz: Spirituality in a Minor Key.” The event will take place at 37018 Glendale Street in Purcellville. Guests will enjoy a night of great Jazz and Blues performed by Presbyterian pastor and Jazz drummer Chip Hammond and his band, On Easy Street. Attendees will delve into the rich history of this uniquely American art form, rooted in the African American experience and faith.

The event’s format will seamlessly blend stories and songs, offering guests an immersive experience. Following the performance, there will be a reception, providing an opportunity to further engage with the musicians and fellow attendees.
