I-CARE will provide one of Northern Virginia’s best bets for a fun, informative summer outing on
Saturday, August 5th at the site of I-CARE’S new health care training center in Ashburn, VA.
“We want to celebrate 30 years of caring for local residents who need home health care by
throwing a bit of a public party as a thank you to the community,” said I-CARE founder and
chief executive Donna Ivey. “It’s also a kickoff for our personal care aide program that will open this fall at the site we’re hosting our health fair and festival.”
The event, which takes place at 19955 Highland in Ashburn, will showcase dozens of family friendly activities and entertainment, including health screenings and demonstrations, live jazz music, massage & wellness tent, a special healthy food pavilion, fitness and aerobics classes, ongoing programs and presentations from the main fair stage and many activities for children.
The event will share information about the growing health care worker shortage both locally and
nationally which has become worse because of COVID and the strain it put on the health care
profession. I-CARE Inc. is addressing this crisis by opening the training institute to
make this career opportunity more accessible and give an opportunity for family caregivers to learn proper techniques for taking care of their loved ones.
Other activities for kids at the event include resources for parents, unicorn pony rides, moon bounces, face painting, obstacle courses, a visit from Batman and his Superhero friends, Elsa and Princess friends, martial art demos, games, DJ & dance lessons,
tournaments, games, crafts and much more.
