Inova Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (ILNRC) in Leesburg hosted in-person visitation for the first time recently since March.
On Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27, visits were allowed for the first time in compliance with recently updated guidelines from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid.
Resident Cecilia DeMaria and her daughter Peggy Thompson were one of the many reunited families during this visitation.
“Not knowing what exactly to expect after 6 1/2 months of not entering the facility, the anticipation was somewhat surreal,” said Thompson. Visiting via Zoom twice a week or so, certainly was a Godsend. What I didn’t expect was the emotion mom experienced upon that initial sighting of one another as I approached her even before we embraced.”
The ILNRC team has developed a visitation plan that follows CDC guidelines and will continue to keep residents, team members and families safe.
