Inova Awards $1.2 million in Health Equity Support to Local Nonprofits

Seventeen (17) non-profits, two in Loudoun, from Inova’s service area throughout Northern Virginia received Health Equity Opportunities funding, along with an additional six partner organizations totaling $1.2 million.

Inova Health System has awarded $1.2 million in health equity grants to 17 Northern Virginia nonprofits, the largest level of funding to date for this grants program. The funding includes several Loudoun organizations.

An additional six partner organizations to the nonprofits within Inova’s service area received the funding. The hospital awards the grants to organizations whose initiatives seek to improve health equity and support under-resourced communities with unmet healthcare needs. Applicants must propose programs that demonstrate clear, reasonable, attainable, and measurable impacts.

“Addressing the health equity needs of our community is fundamental to Inova’s mission,” stated Chief of Clinical Enterprise at Inova, Dr. Stephen J. Motew. “Partnering with other non-profits helps extend our reach to better meet both acute health issues as well as promoting the long-term health and wellbeing of the communities which we have the privilege to serve.”

Inova requests proposals for health equity funding annually, encouraging nonprofit organizations to partner in meeting the diverse healthcare needs of our communities. Applicants should propose programs that are impactful, feasible, and demonstrate good stewardship of resources. All recipients support Inova’s commitment to improving access to care and supporting the wellbeing of the Northern Virginia community.
