They say laughter is the best medicine. Even in a crisis, laughter can get a person through the darkest days.
It’s the reason why Lansdowne freelance graphic designer, Karyn Baskette, created humorous Covid-themed stationary.
“Staying connected to friends and having some normalcy with laughter is the best therapy,” says Baskette.
Through her Etsy shop, Yondee Celebrations, Baskette has created an entire “Covid Comic Relief Stationary” line. It features eight variety packs of silly sayings and cards to send to friends and family during this time of social distancing.
“The concept really just came about from things I am feeling during this pandemic and things I’ve said to my friends,” she says.
Likely you’ve said or thought a few of these things too and chuckled.
For example, one set of stationary includes quarantine multiple choices, as shown below. Note cards include “what I miss most today” (like a haircut and a clean house) and “I can’t wait to” (touch my face again or run to Homegoods).
There is even Tiger King stationary.
Who hasn’t watched Tiger King and shared some memes during social distancing? Now you can mail notes that read, “Hey cool cats & kittens!”
A personal favorite for Baskette is the hip-hop lyrics stationary. These printed sets of flat note cards include song lyrics that make light of our current scenarios, such as “from the window, to the wall.”
Baskette has sold about 100 of these stationary kits since launching the Covid Comic Relief collection a few short weeks ago.
