Two nurses from Inova Loudoun Hospital are finalists for the 2020 Star Nurses Awards. Erin Brand and Pamela Kravatz, pictured above, were nominated by patients and peers and selected out of tens of thousands of registered nurses working in the Washington, DC metro area.
The Star Nurses program was established to recognize nurses from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in their organization, the lives of their patients or their community. More than 600 nurses were nominated and 91 were named as finalists. Six winners will be announced on September 1 at the first-ever “Nightingale Award” event.
“These nursing professionals work on the front lines of healthcare, and represent the epitome of skill, professionalism, compassion and they are experts in the field,” said Maureen Sintich, DNP, MBA, RN, WHNP-BC, NEA-BC, Chief Nurse Executive, Inova. “I am proud beyond description of these amazing professionals and often think about that special characteristic that separates great nurses from the best nurses. Inova is proud to have so many of the best.”
The award program is co-sponsored by The Washington Post and the American Nurses Association (ANA).
