More than a 1,000 people showed up for a walk in downtown Leesburg on Sunday to protest the death of George Floyd — a black man who was killed by police in Minneapolis.

Anyone who participated in the march can attest to the peacefulness and unity that resonated through the demonstration. Videographer, Jose Villatoro, created the above montage of clips from the protest. As of Tuesday, the video has had more than 800 shares.

Villatoro captioned the video with the following sentiments: “In light of current events it’s important to remind each other in peaceful protest that we are in this together. Our stand and actions we take today will be the change we see tomorrow #BlacklivesMatter.”

Elsewhere, protests have erupted in violence and destruction. The scene remained calm and loving in Leesburg, however. During the march, the community walked and chanted in unison. Floyd’s last words, “I can’t breathe,” which he said to the officer who kneeled on his neck for several minutes, was chanted as well as written on signs. Those signs now line the fence of the courthouse.

Villatoro says he is happy he could capture this historical moment and is blown away by the responses to the video.
