Session Description: : Parents and guardians of adolescent and young adult children who abuse substances experience an inordinate amount of stress. Often times they do not know what to do to help their substance abusing adolescent or young adult child and will typically seek advice from well-meaning family members and even mental health providers that may not be helpful or is ineffective. This presentation will provide parents and guardians practical, actionable steps for building resilience as they assist their substance abusing teen or young adult.

Session Description: Could addiction be a disease? How do we know? Is there a way to cure or manage the disease? What are the best resources and treatments? By the end of this session, you’ll be able to define why addiction is more than moral failing, identify the role of dopamine in addiction and learn how addiction tricks the brain into choosing the drug of choice over other survival needs.

Love Local Night Benefiting HeroHomes @ Dirt Farm Brewing

On Thursdays, Bluemont Vineyard hosts “Love Local Night” with a purpose to spark a season of giving back to charities in Loudoun County.

Love Local guests are invited on the patio for a countdown to the illumination of the lights with a toast to support HeroHomes. The organization focuses on building houses, jobs, and communities for those who have fought for the preservation of freedom and democracy for others. They provide the opportunity for disabled veterans to rejoin society with the security and pride of homeownership.

Guests looking to support HeroHomes but are not able to be onsite for the profit-share night are invited to join virtually at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15.00 per guest and include a welcome beverage.

Enjoy the trip out West then stop to enjoy some fun time with your friends and family. Stretch, sip & craft with blooms2u and Exhaleyogi at the Cherry Blossom Festival Day celebration from 11-6 pm! Cherry blossoms will be at their peak bloom. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to take some instaworthy photos.

Feel good in your body with a yoga session designed to shake off the winter blues, cultivate joy and strength, and lastly “melt” as your mind and body slip into a deep state of rest. Please remember to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and layer your clothes for comfort. A blanket and yoga blocks are also wonderful things to bring if you have them. Class will start at 11:00 am so please arrive by 1045 am to get situated on your mat.

After your yoga practice, sample the Breaux Vineyards selection of wine at this Loudoun place to be. Will it be bubbly, red, white or rose’ for you? It’ll be Breaux rose’ release day for the festival. Wine and food from the Breaux Vineyards menu is available for purchase. Sample the wine offerings and discover a new favorite. Sip a glass or purchase a bottle to take home.
Learn tips and tricks of pro floral arranging using fresh, seasonal flowers and a reuseable Mason jar. Create a beautiful seasonal floral display to enjoy during your day at Breaux Vineyard and home. All supplies will be provided. No prior skills required.
Live music will be in the main tasting space to elevate your experience.
