Inova Loudoun Hospital is a recipient of the Emergency Nurses Association’s (ENA) 2021 Lantern award. The award serves as a visible symbol of commitment to quality, safety and a healthy work environment.
“Only three emergency departments in Virginia received this honor and two of those are at Inova,” said Susan Carroll, president of the western region at Inova Health System. “Our emergency teams are extremely dedicated to improving patient outcomes and providing excellent care to each patient and family member they are privileged to serve. We are honored by this recognition,” she added.
The ENA Lantern Award showcases an emergency department’s accomplishments in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovative emergency care. The hospital demonstrated exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research. For award consideration, emergency departments had to share stories regarding patient care and about its nursing staff.
Loudoun Hospital’s award will be on display at both Leesburg emergency departments.
The ENA’s 2021 Lantern Award was awarded to 33 emergency departments across the country. For more information on this year’s Lantern Award recipients, visit the Emergency Nurses Association website.
