The Loudoun Chamber launched the “Feeding Loudoun’s Health Care Heroes” campaign, providing local businesses and residents an opportunity to thank area hospital employees for their efforts during the COVID-19 crisis by buying them lunch.
“America’s health care workers are on the front lines every day, risking their safety to care for those afflicted with the devastating coronavirus. Many Loudoun Chamber members have asked us how they can show their appreciation for these heroes, so we launched “Feeding Loudoun’s Health Care Heroes,” so they could simply buy lunch for our hard-working nurses, doctors and other front-line health care workers,” said Loudoun Chamber President Tony Howard.
According to the Loudoun Chamber, every $10 donated will pay for a delivered lunch for one health care worker. The meals are prepared, packaged, and delivered following strict safety protocols by Chamber-member restaurants.
The Loudoun Chamber established a website and a GoFundMe page for the “Feed Loudoun’s Health Care Heroes” campaign.
“There are hundreds of health care workers between Inova Loudoun Hospital and Stone Springs Hospital Center, each one of them making a valuable contribution to help our community defeat the deadly COVID-19. The rest of us can show these health care heroes how much we appreciate all they are doing, and all they are sacrificing, to keep our families safe by just simply buying them lunch. Please help us Feed Our Health Care Heroes,” Howard added.
By Friday, April 24, the initiative had already raised more than $4,300 of its $10,000 goal.
