A new policy adopted by the Loudoun Chamber’s Board of Directors allows any Chamber member to nominate a candidate to serve on the Board. This new policy also establishes the priorities the Chamber is seeking in directors and creates a formal process for nominees to apply for a seat.
The Chamber is currently receiving Board nominations. The nomination process will close September 30th. To nominate a Chamber member for the Board of Directors, please click here. Self-nominations are accepted.
Nominees will be invited to apply for a Board seat as soon as their nomination is received. The deadline to apply is October 7th, at 5 p.m. Applicants will be considered based on their record of Chamber and community engagement, to include:
- Engagement: Their volunteer engagement with the Chamber, including in leadership positions.
- Expertise: Their industry and professional expertise.
- Investment: The level of financial investment in the Chamber, including member and sponsor recruitment.
- Diversity: Do they represent demographic, industry, or geographic areas not currently well represented on the Board.
Nominees and their organizations must be Loudoun Chamber members, with their membership dues current, and should be actively engaged with the Chamber for no less than two years.
The Chamber’s Governance Committee will evaluate applications for the Board and propose a list of candidates, based on the number of open seats available, to the current Board of Directors for approval.
