Loudoun County has had the highest median household income for the past 12 years— yet the county ranks among the lowest in charitable giving.
Now more than ever, local nonprofits could use your generosity. For as little as $10, you could support a local charity for Give Choose day. The Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties hosts this campaign annually in May, which is one of the largest single day fundraisers. The campaign challenges residents to donate to local nonprofit organizations serving these counties.
There are 87 charities participating in the Give Choose challenge on May 5. To learn which charities are participating, visit the Give Choose homepage here. You can search by categories or by name. Each charity has a profile to learn more about them. Some also list challenges in which they’ll match what is donated.
Many of the nonprofits are experiencing an increase in needs due to COVID-19 and social distancing. The spring is a time when many host fundraising events that now have been cancelled or postponed.
Take time today to make a monetary donation to one or more of the nonprofits listed. You can also follow along to see how each charity is doing to meet their goals during the 24-hour fundraising period.
